A small quilting group I meet with once a month worked on this project yesterday. Each of us made her own version of this “quilt-as-you-go” table runner. I am not quite sure, but I may add a bit of long-arm feathering…………

Several of my quilting friends and I are going on a quilt fabric shop hop entitled “Bop around the Bay,” where the participating shops are all near Grand Traverse Bay. The shop hop is sponsoring a contest to make the best 12 inch block using the floral print seen in my creation here. All the blocks will be given to charities once the winner has been chosen.

Here’s a recipe that turned out well. I used the recipe on the Eden Foods Red Quinoa package, served it on romaine lettuce leaves and topped with cubes of feta. Yum. The only alteration to the recipe was to add some salt….about a teaspoon for the six serving recipe.
Since moving to northern Michigan, I joined a small group of quilters, all ex-pats from Indiana, called the Hoosier Quilting Circle. We worked on a group project to help brighten our wintry lives the past few months. This little gem will go to a project in Indiana where a new quilt is presented to each child attending Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do, a summer recreational camp for children fighting cancer. Hopefully, it will brighten some child’s life a little, too.

Besides the “sun” quilting in the blocks, there is “fern” quilting in the borders:
The new header is a photo of the marsh marigold that bloom along the banks of the north branch of the AuSable River early in spring.
I finished up this little wall hanging recently and hung it in the powder room downstairs:
