Just finished another Miranda Day Bag , pattern by Lazy Girl Designs. The fabric is “On the Rio Grande” by Terrie Mangat.
It is lined and has lots of good sized pockets and a rigid base which makes it strong for carrying ’round all sorts of stuff.
Also, finished up the matching Smartee Wallet by Dragonfly Designs.
It has a zippered bill compartment on the outside.
And a zippered coin compartment, drivers license window, and credit card slots inside.
All in all, a nice little project!

Today we drove 45 minutes from our home to stalk the wild morel at one of our favorite hunting grounds. We saw lots of interesting things.
The trillium along the roadside are a sure sign you have your timing right. These we saw in profusion.
Yes, those are more trillium in the distance. They do go on and on.
Various “tree ears”.
Remnants of Indian Pipes from last fall.
Various wild flowers.
Including pink trillium.
Interesting textures of decaying trees.
Unusually large birch trees.
Even a spent robin’s egg.
But no morels.
Until we returned home to find these great guys along the driveway near our house! And, yes, they were delicious.
Sneak peak of the octagon miter of the first inner border on the Jinny Beyer “Nova Nouvelle” quilt I am working on. I am using Jinny’s fabric and pattern, but I visited her studio to pick out my own fabric combination to use.
The second variety of daffodils to bloom.
It’s a bouquet springing from the ground!
Don’t you just love quilting? Got Dave to make a template to cut the wedges and completed this yesterday from stash and scraps. I think I will call it “Scraps on a Plate!” Check out Lurline’s tutorial.
