“Winter Log Cabin”
Blogger’s Quilt Festival Stats
Finished quilt measures : 72″x 72″
Special techniques used : log cabin piecing
Quilted by : Me, Joyce Triezenberg, on my long arm quilting machine
Best Category : Pieced throw quilt, scrappy
I pieced this throw size log cabin style quilt one past November in shades of brown, gray, black and cream batiks.
There are seven rounds of one inch logs for each “cabin” if you count the center.
I used King Tut thread in the color “Cedar” for the long arm machine quilting.
On chilly winter evenings my husband testifies that the quilt is very cozy indeed.

The quilting looks like little penguins in a row in the one inch inner border!
Gorgeous that brown is not boring at all. BEAUTIFUL

Thank you, Ann!
Wow that is really pretty the fabrics and quilting.
I am a sucker for a good log cabin and this is gorgeous! Your quilting is beautiful!
The sun motif is such a great idea for the quilting of this quilt! Love the browns and the ‘naturalness’ that this quilt has. Good flow, and looks really really cozy.
This really does look like a cozy quilt– those greys and browns are so warm and inviting. I love the quilting as well. Beautiful!
Beautiful quilt. I love the colors; and you can’t beat the look of a log cabin with narrow strips. Love your quilting too!
